Professional Woodworking Expo 2026: Innovation, Skills, and Industry Leadership

The UK’s only dedicated event for woodworking professionals returns to the NEC Birmingham from 17–19 May 2026, as the Professional Woodworking Expo announces key partnerships, leadership, and programme developments for its reimagined edition. Over 6,000 professionals from across the UK and Ireland are expected to attend, alongside more than 500 members of the British Woodworking Federation (BWF), underscoring Professional Woodworking Expo’s position as the essential meeting place for the woodworking and joinery manufacturing community.

Professional Woodworking Expo is proud to confirm the BWF as an official partner for the 2026 event. Working closely with organisers, the BWF will help shape content, provide industry insights, and ensure the expo delivers maximum value to its members and the wider sector. David Todd, Professional Woodworking Expo Event Director, said: “Partnering with the BWF ensures that Professional Woodworking Expo remains fully aligned with industry needs. Together, we will deliver an event that showcases the very best products, skills, and solutions for the sector.”

The 2026 content programme, which will include a combination of live demonstrations and seminars, is being shaped by the Professional Woodworking Expo Advisory Board, which convened industry stakeholders including brand ambassadors, trade associations, training providers, and network leaders. Key themes identified include innovation, skills development, workforce growth, and business sustainability. Rising trends such as thermally treated timber, composites, battery-powered tools, CNC machining, SketchUp, and AI-driven design will feature prominently, alongside practical support for cost management, regulatory compliance, and SME-focused solutions. The Advisory Board also emphasised the importance of interactive, hands-on demonstrations and content that reflects the evolving needs of the woodworking community.

Professional Woodworking Expo 2026 will offer expanded live demonstration areas, curated seminars, and expert-led content, alongside a comprehensive exhibition of cutting-edge machinery, tools, software, coatings, and materials. Returning and new exhibitors - including Ostermann, Advanced Machinery Services, VWM, Leitz Tooling, Elmbridge UK, Mirka, Festool, and IMA Schelling - will present a broad spectrum of solutions designed to help businesses remain competitive in an evolving market. New initiatives, such as a Launchpad Zone for innovators, expanded apprentice and skills showcases, and enhanced sustainability programming, will provide practical learning and networking opportunities for all attendees.

Returning as Brand Ambassador, Robin Clevett brings over 35 years’ experience across carpentry and joinery, along with a strong presence on YouTube and FIX Radio, to inspire and elevate standards across the industry. Robin will champion live demonstrations, support emerging talent, and engage third-year construction and joinery students in hands-on projects, including a live roof build at the show. David Todd commented: “Robin’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the craft are unmatched. We’re excited to see the next generation contribute and to bring new collaborations and experiences to life in 2026.”
