In normal operating conditions, the VENTEX® passive explosion isolation valve permits air flow to move normally around its central float component. When a deflagration occurs, the rapid pressure increase closes the moving float which latches in  position to prevent further transmission of pressure and flame. The energy of the early stage of the deflagration combustion process actuates the VENTEX® valve without external energy sources.
